FIM Refining Systems

Overview

FIM degassing sytems are furnace refining systems designed to degas and circulate the melt within a holding furnace. Optional flux-injection or chlorine panels can be included with certian models. FIM furnace refining systems are custom-engineered and designed based on an operation's requirements.

Available models include:

  • FIM-2010 -  Available as a floor mount in front of a furnace and serve for large furnaces. Rotor can be tilted from a horizontal position to an angled operation position between 30 degrees and 40 degrees. After the rotor is submerged into metal, it can swing at angle of approximately 40 degrees (maximum).
  • FIM-2020A - Available as a floor mount beside a furnace or mounted on a furnace side wall. The rotor can be tilted to a vertical position for easy replacement.
  • FIM-2020B - Available as a floor mount beside a furnace or mounted on a furnace side wall. The rotor is submerged into metal at a fixed angle.
  • FIM-2020C - Available as a mount between two furnaces and can serve two furnaces.
  • FIM-2030A - Built-on and mobiled by an electric truck. Rotor’s operation position can be adjusted for different front door heights of furnaces.
  • FIM-2030B - Built-on and mobiled by an electric truck. Rotor’s operation position is fixed and designed to fit a furnace’s front door.
  • FIM-S5 - Must be moved to a different furnace manually. Injects flux into furnace via flux wand or steel pipe and is equipped with HMI for easy operation.
  • FIM-G5 - Must be moved to different furnace manually. Inject flux into furnace via flux wand or steel pipe.
  • FIT-10 - Must be moved to different furnace manually. Inject flux into furnace via flux wand or steel pipe pneumatically.

Note: these systems are separate from Pyrotek's FIM lance flux injection systems.
