Cast Iron Skim Blades

Overview

Pyrotek skim blades made from ductile cast iron provide better corrosion and erosion resistance than traditional steel blades. This improved resistance extends the working life of the blade and reduces the amount of iron contamination inside the melt.

Pyrotek’s two-piece cast iron assembly use a bolt system for attaching the blade to the boom. Using bolts allows for easier blade replacement, less damage to the boom, and reduced downtime when compared to traditional welding. Additionally, the cast iron boom uses a three-bolt attachment system for connecting to the current connection system, allowing for reduced replacement time as well. Cast iron booms are custom designed to match and fit the customers current system specifications.

If required, Pyrotek also offers a 3D cast, single-unit design that removes the need for a connection system between blade and boom.
