Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for cleaning and maintaining the health and safety standards of the Plant.  Perform basic repairs to the facility, as required.

Shift:  Monday - Friday, 6:30am - 3:00 pm

** Starting wage $18/hourly with the potential to earn more based on performance and experience. **

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

• Ensure restrooms are clean and ready for use at all times, including cleaning the toilets, urinals, sinks and floors, replacing trash liners and refilling dispensers.  
• Dust office furniture, windowsills, doors, etc., cleans windows and glass doors, stairwells, blinds, empties trash receptacles, sweeps, mops, vacuums and buffs floors.
• Clean and sanitize tables, chairs and refrigerator in eating areas.
• Ensure appropriate set up in conference rooms for meetings, classes or events, as requested.
• Perform general maintenance using tools that include pressure washers, buffers, vacuums, auto scrubbers, ladders, squeegees, weed eaters, lawnmower and a variety of cleaning supplies.
• Perform general maintenance duties such as unstopping toilets and doing minor plumbing repair, as requested.
• Perform basic outdoor maintenance to include sweeping parking lots, picking up trash, removing snow and spreading ice salt on the exterior grounds of the facility, lawn mowing, weed removal, and pressure washing the parking lot and/or building exterior.

Qualifications

Education/Experience

HS Diploma or GED, plus one year of janitorial experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Core Business Skills.  Ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion in handling of proprietary and confidential information.  Ability to work independently, without significant direction.  Judgment and keen attention to detail and accuracy.  Time management and organizational skills.  Self-motivated, able to complete a task successfully under little or no supervision.

Core Janitorial/Maintenance Skills.  Ability to work on minor repairs to structure and special maintenance projects needed to keep facilities whole and up to date.  Ability to perform basic cleaning tasks including, but not limited to dusting, scrubbing, sweeping and washing floors, and washing windows. Ability to perform general maintenance using tools that include pressure washers, buffers, vacuums, auto scrubbers, ladders, squeegees, weed eaters, and lawnmower.

Must be able to bend and reach, use stairs and ladders, lift up to 50 pounds occasionally, 10–25lbs frequently and communicate effectively in English by telephone, in person and in writing.

Working Environment:
Works in a variety of settings, including office, industrial manufacturing areas and outdoors.   Works with cleaning chemicals, basic repair and maintenance tools/equipment that may require the use of PPE.  Generally works independently and during non-business hours.
