Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating our day-to-day shipments and support the efforts of our Logistics Team by providing visibility and maintaining accurate documentation for all loads in a fast-paced environment. 

Starting pay range of $21 with the potential of earning more based on relevant experience.   Position is Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Regularly enter tracking information into ERP system.
  • Initiate and maintain proactive tracking methodology to keep customer service and sales apprised of current location of orders.
  • Plan and schedule inbound and outbound shipments to internal or external customers based on needs. Continuously and closely monitor freight via multiple detailed websites to ensure on-time delivery of goods to customers.  Proactively notify customers of potential delays.
  • Work cooperatively with and coordinates with Customer Service, Supply Chain, and Sales to provide solutions for customers’ needs and resolve issues.
  • Maintain regular contact with carriers/freight forwarders to assist sites in the resolution of service issues.
  • Accurately gather data to assist with the negotiation of contracts and pricing with carriers across all modes and regions that drive value creation for Pyrotek USA’s Transportation strategy.
  • Monitor costs by evaluating shipments, consolidating loads, and selecting most cost-efficient method of shipment.

Qualifications

Education/Experience  Associate degree in business, supply chain management or related field, plus a minimum of two (2) years of related experience, including all modes of international freight, customs processes, including air freight, ocean, small parcel, less than truckload (LTL) and truckload (TL) classwork accepted.

  • Computer/Applications Skills. Proficient computer skills using a variety of software applications systems including ERP system. Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products such as Word, Excel, etc.
  • Core Business Skills. Ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion in handling of proprietary and confidential information. Ability to work independently, without significant direction and to use resources effectively. Strong critical thinking skills, judgment and keen attention to detail and accuracy. Exceptional prioritization, time management and organizational skills.
  • Logistics.  Ability to interact with customers effectively and positively to ensure customer satisfaction and resolve issues.  Ability to work with vendors productively and negotiate contracts for mutual benefit.
  • Performance Management. Ability to define problems, collect objective data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to continually develop and grow and work in a team environment. Ability to manage individual workload in a productive fashion.

Must be able to sit for long periods-of-time, bend and reach, use stairs, lift up to 40 pounds occasionally and communicate effectively in English by telephone, in person and in writing. Effectively use a personal computer, office equipment and telephone. 

Working Environment
Generally, work in an office environment.  Will be required to go onto plant floor occasionally as needs/issues arise where Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
