Atmospheric (Air) Thermocouples

Overview

Atmospheric thermocouples (TC) are used to monitor heat above the furnace, also referred to as furnace roof thermocouples. The thermocouple is guarded by a protection tube (TCPT) to safeguard the element against the harsh environment and prolong its working life. Typical locations are centred above the furnace exhaust or sealed pressurized system. As part of an integrated control system, the feedback gained is used to control optimal furnace operation.

Typical TCPT types include alumina, mullite, stainless steel and Inconel 601.
