Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Join Pyrotek’s industry-leading team and keep innovation running smoothly.

2nd Shift - 2pm - 10pm, Monday - Friday.  The ability to work outside normal scheduled hours is required for any equipment downtime or power outages.

At Pyrotek, we’re a global leader in high-performance materials used in aluminum manufacturing, and we’re looking for a skilled Maintenance Technician III to join our Aurora facility. In this hands-on role, you’ll be a key player in ensuring our production equipment and facility operate safely, efficiently, and reliably.

What You’ll Do

As a Maintenance Technician III, you’ll take ownership of advanced maintenance, repair, and installation work across our manufacturing operations. Your day-to-day will include:

  • Performing preventative maintenance and troubleshooting complex mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Installing, modifying, and maintaining industrial production equipment and systems.
  • Conducting root cause analysis to identify and prevent future downtime.
  • Collaborating with production and engineering teams to keep operations running at peak performance.
  • Maintaining detailed work records and updates in our Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Supporting and training other technicians while ensuring a clean, safe, and efficient work environment.

Qualifications

What We’re Looking For

You’re an experienced maintenance professional who thrives on solving problems and keeping equipment at its best. You bring:

  • A high school diploma or GED, plus 6+ years of maintenance and repair experience (or an equivalent mix of training and experience).
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and equipment manuals.
  • Experience using hand and power tools, including precision instruments and welding or fabrication equipment.
  • Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical systems, or CNC machinery a plus.
  • Basic computer skills with comfort entering data into CMMS systems.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal hours when production needs arise.
  • A safety-first mindset and a commitment to teamwork.
  • Driver's license, preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member must be able to stand and walk for long periods of time, kneel, crouch, and bend, occasionally climb stairs, use hands and fingers to handle, grasp or feel, and reach in various angles with hands or arms.  Must be able to lift or carry up to 25 lbs. frequently, and up to 75 lbs. occasionally.

Working Environment
While performing the essential responsibilities of this position, Team Member generally will work in a manufacturing environment with frequent exposure to loud noise, moving mechanical parts, and fumes or airborne particles.  Periodic exposure to outdoor environment through open doors. PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) such as approved footwear, respirators, safety glasses/goggles, may be required.
