Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Job Summary

The Regional Finance Manger is responsible for providing financial leadership to the designated business units in Mexico and South American regions.  The Regional Finance Manager will be expected to drive increased profitability by highlighting profit improvement opportunities, improving internal controls and by monitoring results against budgets and division financial objectives.  This is a broad job that require accounting skills, treasury management, practical business experience, manufacturing/operations experience and a hands-on solution oriented attitude.

Duties And Responsibilities

  • Provide timely and accurate financial information to the local and regional management to drive the analysis and profitability of the business.  This will include the development and maintenance of both line-of-business and geographical based income statements.
  • Conduct monthly financial reviews with each finance division and execute a standard action list:
    • Includes the duties outlined in BPC’s business process flows, including: reviewing local GAAP entries, supporting schedules such as I/C, GIT, capex spend, cash paid for taxes, rollforwards for PPE, Intangibles, inventory, debt, reserves, staff count. Review month end reconciliations.
    • Also includes the review and resolution of I/C reconciliations issues related to Latin America.
    • Implement lean processing to provide timely financial reporting
    • Prepare or approve cash flow projections
    • Analysis of local supporting documents and preparation of USGAAP entries including rollforward, JE prep.
  • Establish controls over credit management to reduce risk and improve cash collection times working with both customer service and credit analyst/FM.
  • Analysis of sales information to ensure timely and proper LOB allocations.
  • Participate in monthly operations reviews for each location and create action list:
    • Includes items related to static data, costing, workorder audits, etc.
    • Ensure that manufacturing costs are accurate – estimated vs. actual and full absorption
    • Establish procedures for control over inventory – including annual or cycle counts, and approval process for adjustments for obsolescence or scrap. No stock-outs and reduce slow moving
    • Create and monitor new financial metrics to help drive cost savings across plants.
    • Review of customer price increases
    • Coordinate the calculation and communication of interplant price increases
  • Direct the year-end external audit process – coordinate all associated reports and schedule preparation.
  • Direct all clerical and bookkeeping functions (to include fixed asset management, accounts payable and accounts receivable, credit, etc.)
  • Develop and distribute training information to help with all accounting new hires.
  • Prepare or review all required state, local tax filings.
  • Direct the information services group to insure operational needs as well as financial requirements are met and that integration between the two is seamless. 
  • Coordinate and communicate annual operating budgets and forecasting as well as reporting actual to budget/forecast variances.
  • Coordinate and communicate annual capital expenditure budgets and reporting.
  • Collaborate with Corporate Accounting team to improve global accounting and financial reporting.
  • Provide BPC and Visual Reports (through a staff member) as needed throughout divisions.  Provide the in-region leadership for these reporting systems.
  • Involvement in contract negotiations – leases, supplies, services and employee benefits.
  • Participate in Regional Finance Manager group.
  • Participate in Global Finance Meetings, and lead regional breakout sessions
  • Ensure adherence to company policies and procedures.
  • Complete special projects as defined by the Chief Financial Officer or General Manager.
  • Direct Reports – Finance Manager, HR Manager.

Qualifications

Desired Qualifications – Education/Experience

  • B.S. – Accounting or related field
  • Experience with taxation and accounting principles for Latin American countries especially Brazil, Mexico and Argentina
  • Seven plus years of increasing responsibility in financial management positions
  • CPA preferred with USGAAP training
  • Significant experience in manufacturing cost accounting
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate people
  • Proven track record in creating and analyzing financial data
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools and ERP systems
  • Visa and passport
  • Available to travel
