Job Summary

Pyrotek Cortland provides engineering and design, production and installation of thermal products and systems for high-temperature treatment, filtration, heating, melting control processing, conveyance and transfer of primary materials including, but not limited to, aluminium, steel, other metals, glass, graphite and powder metals.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Supervise, assist and coordinate activities of workers engaged in maintaining and repairing all equipment and physical buildings and grounds affiliated with Pyrotek Operations.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities
- Effectively oversee and monitor the performance of all functions within assigned area of responsibility. Determine the effectiveness of policies, procedures and projects/plans; take appropriate corrective measures when necessary; and identify new applications, innovations, quality and/or safety improvements and report findings/results to management. Ensure all activities and operations are performed in compliance with federal, state and local regulations.
- Supervise, support, train and develop personnel in assigned area; resolve personnel issues, redirecting complex issues to management and HR in a timely manner; directly manage Team Members, including assigning and reviewing work, evaluating performance, resolving grievances, administering disciplinary action, interviewing employment candidates, and effectively recommending hiring and terminations in a timely manner.
- Effectively coordinate, assist and/or direct Team Members engaged in:
- Repairs and maintenance associated with manufacturing equipment, support equipment and infrastructure.
- Preventative maintenance and repairs.
- Ensure proper management of HVAC systems, building alarms and fire alarms. Manage corresponding vendor relationships.
- Confer with other supervisors to coordinate activities of individual departments.
- Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies as needed.
- Inspect completed work for conformance to good maintenance practices, specifications, and standards.
- Operate and maintain/update MP2-Enterprise CMMS for equipment, infrastructure, and building to provide the best possible preventative maintenance for Pyrotek assets.
- Proactively suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of work crew.
- Maintains records and files specific EPA documentation with local, state, and federal agencies.
- Perform maintenance worker activities as needed.
- Champion the Pyrotek Quality program and ISO policies and procedures. Respond appropriately to requests for information, and provide assistance to ensure timely investigation, causal analysis, and corrective action takes place.

Qualifications
Education/Experience Associates Degree (AAS) in Technology (Electrical, Mechanical, and Industrial) from a college or university or two years related supervisory experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

- Customer Service Computer/Applications Skills. Must have skills in MS OFFICE Suite Word, Excel, and Outlook. ERP and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) experience and skills preferred. Familiarity with combustible systems desired.
- Core Business Skills. Ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion in handling of proprietary and confidential information. Must be able to set effective priorities and adjust quickly and appropriately to changing demands and needs. Ability to work independently, without significant direction and to use resources effectively to “figure it out.” Strong critical thinking skills, judgment and keen attention to detail and accuracy. Exceptional prioritization, time management and organizational skills. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Trained and certified in forklift operations.
