Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The Quality Coordinator is responsible for the Gage Calibration System, internal testing and inspections, lab work, quality investigations and root cause analysis, and Quality Management System documentation and control.

** Salary range starts at $49,795 with the ability to be offered more based on experience **

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  • Manage and maintain the gage calibration system in a safe and effective manner. This includes gathering gauges and performing calibrations and calibration analysis, verifying gauge and equipment accuracy, maintaining database system information to track gage status and verification, organizing and monitoring calibration suppliers, and recommending gauges to purchase.
  • Manage incoming supplier quality of products purchased to Pyrotek-specific drawings by performing inspections on-site and/or at a supplier location and documenting performance.
  • Manage supplier quality of refractory goods by verifying supplier certificate of analysis conformance, maintaining product and supplier performance documentation, and by performing refractory testing when required.
  • Conduct internal inspections and performs functional testing of in-house products (i.e. weld integrity, pressure testing, measurements, etc.).
  • Document all process and product non-conformances in-house and seek appropriate disposition by subject matter experts.
  • Maintain accurate logs, inspection forms, and other documentation and posts quality communications and trainings/single point lessons to comply with the quality management system.  Develop and write procedures relating to quality management system compliance.
  • Effectively conduct root cause analysis investigation work relating to casting data, inventory and internal inspection records. Implement corrective actions as directed/applicable.
  • Support and assist Quality Team goals and objectives.

Qualifications

Education/Experience: Associate Degree in science, engineering, or other technical field, plus a minimum three (3) years of related experience in manufacturing; or equivalent work and life experiences that demonstrate the requirements below.     

Proven experience with accurately using measuring devices to determine trends or identify nonconformance's.  

Proven experience with using and navigating computer software to communicate or find information.

A valid driver’s license is needed for off-site inspections.

Technical Skills. Demonstrated ability to use measurement devices to accurately measure and verify product quality and determine trends or identify nonconformances. Ability to apply geometry and arithmetic math skills, such as addition and subtraction of fractions or decimals to determine tolerances or to measure products. Ability to use hand tools and small power tools to install testing fixturing or assemble testing devices. Ability to become forklift and overhead crane certified is required. Already possess an in- depth understanding of production floor activities and comprehensive knowledge of our products or be capable of becoming familiar.

    While performing the duties of this job, the team member is regularly required to talk, hear, and see.  This position is moderately active and requires standing, walking, and bending. Team members performing this job must be able to wear personal protective or safety equipment such as safety shoes, hardhat, glasses, and hearing protection.  Annual respirator fit test is required.

    Working Environment
    While performing the duties of this job, team member is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts such as overhead cranes, vibration and moving vehicles. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.
