Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Shift: Monday-Friday 7:00am-3:20pm

* Pay from $19.45 - $26.67

Support production operations with the functionality of the graphite furnaces and accessory equipment and machines through safe and efficient basic repair and maintenance.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support production operations by ensuring the functionality of the graphite furnaces and accessory equipment and machines through safe and efficient repair and maintenance, to include:
    • Performing routine work such as tearing down and rebuilding graphite furnaces and furnace equipment.
    • Performing basic preventive maintenance on related equipment such as capsule pushers, airlock, furnaces, water room and other accessory equipment, such as greasing/lubing, to ensure maximum machine performance.
  • Assist maintenance department with a variety of tasks based upon level of knowledge, skills and abilities, to include:
    • Working and troubleshooting PLC’s, controls wiring, switches, sensors, actuators, electromechanical devices, motors etc., as directed.
    • Trouble shooting and repair of electrical equipment.
    • Diagnosis and repair of mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment and installation and repair of plumbing and piping.
    • Basic welding, cutting and fabrication.
  • Accurately perform required work from sketches, blueprints and drawings.
  • Perform Labor/Helper essential functions/manual labor, as directed.
  • Safely and efficiently transport materials and equipment manually or with hoists, slings, frames, and/or fork truck.

Qualifications

Education/Experience. High school diploma or equivalent, plus a minimum of 2 years of experience in industrial manufacturing or automotive maintenance/repair; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience in repair/maintenance and installation/dismantling of industrial equipment/machines is a plus.

Core People Skills. Ability to positively interact and work collaboratively with a diverse group of people at all levels of the organization. 

Machine/Equipment Skills. Ability to safely and effectively use a variety of hand tools, such as hammers, and levels. The ability to use measuring tools, such as micrometers, measuring tapes, lasers, and other precision-measuring devices. Basic knowledge of PLC’s, controls wiring, switches, sensors, actuators, electromechanical devices, and motors, and electronics, a plus. Ability to safety use forklift, cranes, hoists, winches, and other equipment to move large machinery pieces. High level of manual dexterity required. Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods. Ability to read and interpret basic sketches, blueprints and drawings.

Communication Skills. Ability to write legible basic notes. Ability to read and interpret information such as safety rules, work standards, work instructions. 

Computer/Applications Skills. Basic computer skills required, to include ability to enter electronic requisitions into a database.

Core Business Skills. Ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion in handling of proprietary and confidential information. Ability to work independently, without significant direction and to use resources effectively to “figure it out”. Ability to work off shifts such as afternoons, mid-nights, weekends, holidays, etc. and respond to emergency call ins, when required. Strong critical thinking skills, judgment and keen attention to detail and accuracy. Ability to accurately add, subtract, multiply and divide figures to include fractions and decimals. Trained and certified in forklift operations.

While performing the duties of this job, the team member is constantly required to stand; frequently required to walk; use hands to finger, handle or feel, kneeling and reach with hands or arms; occasionally required to climb stairs, ladders, scaffolds and power lifts, and communicate effectively in English by telephone, in person and in writing. Effectively use a personal computer, office equipment and telephone. Team member is required to lift up 25 pounds frequently, and up to 75 pounds occasionally.

WORKING ENVIRONMENT
While performing the essential responsibilities of this position the team member will work in a manufacturing environment. While in manufacturing areas, the team member may also be exposed to moderate background noise, moderate amounts of airborne graphite dust, presence of natural and artificial light, exposure to work temperatures from ambient to controlled, hard surfaces for standing and walking. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.
