Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Position is based in our beautiful, downtown Spokane Headquarters.  Pyrotek is currently adhering to COVID safety precautions and this position is a combination of remote and office position for the foreseeable future.   

Develop and manage financial reporting team, processes and procedures and the consolidation of over 50 foreign and domestic entities. Provide timely and accurate financial information to local, regional and executive management to drive the analysis and profitability of the company. 

  1. Provide timely, accurate, and US GAAP-compliant financial reports including monthly, quarterly and annual reports, annual operating budgets, capital expenditure budgets, bank covenant calculations, and other related reports as requested by management. Develop and/or present PPT presentations, as needed.
  2. Coordinate and manage the year-end consolidated external audit, including compilation and review of supporting schedules, associated reports, and footnote preparation. Ensure coordination of tasks and deadlines with global financial community. Support the development and execution of the internal control initiatives.
  3. Develop and maintain standardized processes, procedures, policies, and documentation related to financial reporting, including the Global Chart of Accounts, to ensure adequate and effective internal controls. Monitor compliance related to US GAAP, company policy and procedures. Provide recommendations to improve global reporting. Strives for continuous improvement.
  4. Serve as the in-house US GAAP expert. Researches accounting rules and regulations and makes formal recommendations regarding company policy.
  5. Act as a resource to Regional Finance Managers and Finance Managers by developing and distributing training information and responding to questions. Play an active role in regional and global finance meetings.
  6. Collaborate closely with the Accounting Systems Manager and IS personnel in order to direct activities to support global financial reporting, financial systems and tools, and the Pyrotek SharePoint Finance site.
  7. Collaborate with and support the Corporate Accounting Team and Global Credit functions, including acting as a backup for essential functions.
  8. Manage and complete other special projects as directed by the Assistant Controller, Corporate Controller, and CFO.
  9. Perform due diligence procedures on potential acquisition targets.
  10. Supervise, coach, support, train and develop personnel in assigned area; resolve personnel issues, redirecting complex issues to management and HR in a timely manner; directly manage team members, including assigning and reviewing work, evaluating performance/compensation, resolving grievances, administering disciplinary action, interviewing employment candidates, and effectively recommending hires and terminations in a timely manner.
  11. Ensure effective communication of goals, objectives and expectations throughout assigned department/team members. Maintain the cooperation and support of team members company-wide through effective interdepartmental communication. Serve as a role model in areas such as professionalism, service orientation, agent of change, education, and commitment to organizational goals and objectives.

Ensure all activities and operations are performed in compliance with federal/national, state/regional and local regulations.

Working Environment
While performing the essential responsibilities of this position, team member generally will work in an office environment.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:  Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or related field, plus five years of experience in financial reporting; or equivalent education and related experience. CPA Required. Previous supervisory experience required. Experience working in a global and multi-cultural organization a plus.  

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Accounting.
Strong accounting, financial reporting and financial analysis skills. Strong knowledge of US GAAP. Ability to research, summarize, and conclude on technical accounting topics. A working knowledge of Cost Accounting and ERP systems is required. IFRS and Tax experience a plus.

Computer/Applications Skills. Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office Products such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint. Experience using consolidation software, ERP systems, and business analytic tools. Prior experience with SharePoint, Microsoft Teams, SAP BPC, and Infor Visual Manufacturing a plus.
