Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Provides link between Information Technology (IT) and key stakeholders to ensure proper integration of Product Data Management (PDM) systems to support Pyrotek business.  Establishes and maintains the business level configuration for PDM systems, including planning upgrades, training, managing consultants during implementation of new business processes into the software, and coordinating troubleshooting for user issues across all client organizations.  

Primary responsibilities will include:

  1. Collaborate with the key stakeholders to understand business requirements, define technical specifications, and create PDM system solutions. 
  2. Maintain the global PDM system landscape to include performing maintenance tasks such as system back-ups and recovery as well as updates to models, dimensions, business rules, and business process flows.
  3. Provide system support including updating and maintaining security, testing software patches and service packs, providing recommendations, and documenting and implementing upgrades. 
  4. Create and deliver documentation and end user training as new schedules, reports, features, and processes are deployed. 
  5. Establish and maintain relationships with SolidWorks and Autodesk Value Added Resellers and other vendors offering technical support, custom development, and training.  
  6. Manage Computer Automated Device (CAD) software licensing process.

Qualifications

Education/Experience   Bachelor of Science degree in engineering discipline (Industrial, Mechanical, Materials Science) or Information Systems, plus a minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, design, or information systems management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Experience writing end user documentation and training and change management preferred.  

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

Computer/Applications Skills. Experience with PDM software packages such as SolidWorks and Autodesk.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio, and other professional communication tools.  Familiar with Agile or Waterfall software delivery life-cycle methodologies.  

Engineering/Manufacturing Principles.  Knowledge of the practical application of engineering and manufacturing principles and technology including applying techniques, procedures, and equipment to the design and production of various goods and services.  Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.  Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles involved in production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models. 

Project Management Skills.  Demonstrated knowledge of principals of project management, including establishing goals or objectives for managing PDM systems, establishing project teams and managing resources, implementing interventions, ensuring organizational alignment, adhering to timelines and budgets, and measuring progress and success.  Excellent planning and relationship building skills. 

Analytical Skills.  Ability to use information/data to develop an informed approach to developing workflows for business processes. Ability to define problems, collect objective data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Core Business Skills. Ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion in handling of proprietary and confidential information.  Ability to work independently, without significant direction and to use resources effectively to “figure it out”.  Exceptional prioritization, time management and organizational skills.

Travel. Domestic/global travel by land and air up to 5%.  U.S. Passport or ability to obtain.
