Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Assist site manufacturing engineer with equipment installations and development activities involved within all area of manufacturing.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  1. Work closely with manufacturing engineer and site operations in;
    • Installation and development activities associated with product lines.
    • Perform analysis on defects on products and make recommendations.
    • Assist with Lean/Six Sigma projects.
    • Time Studies
  2. Work with engineering and manufacturing staff to collect information and write/document work instructions as needed.
  3. Support and actively participate in continuous improvement Initiatives as requested by manager. 
  4. Use EXCEL, video devices, and/or software tools available for data collection and analysis.  
  5. Promote positive employee and customer relations by supporting Pyrotek’s commitment to a working environment of tolerance, acceptance and civility.  Respond appropriately to inquiries, concerns and complaints by being professional, courteous and respectful at all times.
  6. Maintain regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance, as required to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction.
  7. Actively and positively participate in problem resolution, demonstrating constructive communication, timely response and effective resolution skills.  Work effectively within team environments both within your department and across the organization.
  8. Cooperate and comply fully with all Pyrotek policies and procedures.  Actively support and follow the Pyrotek Safety Program.
  9. Participate in company/department meetings, training activities, continuing education programs and other associated activities.
  10. Consistently promote and communicate Pyrotek’s core values through work performance and excellent customer service.   
  11. Perform other tasks as assigned.

Must be able to sit for long periods-of-time, bend and reach, use stairs, lift up to 25 pounds occasionally and communicate effectively in English by telephone, in person and in writing. Effectively use a personal computer, office equipment and telephone. 

Working Environment

Generally, work in an office environment.  Will be required to go onto plant floor occasionally as needs/issues arise where Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) may be required.  

Qualifications

Education/Experience

Pursuing bachelor’s degree in an engineering discipline (ME, MFET, MET, EE, EET) from an ABET accredited program. Minimum completion of second year or higher.  Minimum overall GPA of 2.80.

  • Computer/Application Skills.  Proficient use of Microsoft Excel and Word. Ability to develop drawings via AUTODESK Inventor, AutoCAD 3D.
  • Core Business Skills.  Ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion in the handling of proprietary and confidential information.  Use of resources, analytical skills and process focus to effectively “figure it out.”  Ability to work under pressure and excel in a fast-paced, self-directed entrepreneurial environment.  Must be hands-on and maintain high energy to drive continuous improvement.  Ability to use calipers and media equipment.  Ability to effectively manage time, stay organized and pay attention to detail
  • Professional Investment.   Demonstrated commitment to own personal professional development and learning.  Ability to learn about and apply technical products to various industrial manufacturing processes.
  • Engineering.   Ability to support to Lean training, Kaizen methodologies, 5S and time studies.
