Essential Duties and Responsibilities

As part of the US Aluminum Sales team, the Sales Engineer is responsible for solution selling and service in growing and sustaining territory accounts.   

Ideal candidate will live within Lafayette, Indianapolis or Chicago, IL area.  

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Core Business Skills. Proficient computer skills using a variety of software applications systems Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, particularly Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Hands on working knowledge of Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM).

Computer/Applications Skills. Proficient computer skills using a variety of software applications systems Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, particularly Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint. Hands on working knowledge of Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM).

Communication Skills. AAbility to speak clearly and persuasively in positive or negative situations, listen and obtain clarification, and respond well to questions. Proficiency in writing clearly and concisely and editing work for spelling and grammar. Ability to vary writing style to meet business needs.

Core People Skills. Ability to positively interact; work collaboratively with diverse group of people at all levels with internal and external customers. Genuine with high ethical standards and values and personal integrity and honesty.  Ability to apply a large measure of common sense to a variety of situations.

Professional Investment. Demonstrated commitment to own personal professional development and learning. Demonstrated ability to grow technical/product knowledge.

Qualifications

Must Haves:   Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or other technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and life experiences. Four plus years work experience in a technical or process related industry. Equivalent sales or operations experience within the aluminum or foundry industries. Understanding of Sales Principles, Customer Service practices and Business Acumen.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  7. Continuously and positively support sales and gross margin.
  8. Ongoing accurate sales forecasting and budgeting.
  9. Positively support new product/service introductions.
  10. Accurate Inventory management (including raw materials), stocking   agreements.
  11. Continuously collect Customer Satisfaction, Customer Intelligence Collection and Customer Activity Documentation.
  12. Accurate development of financial, business and strategic analysis for division management.
  13. Continuously look for opportunities to increase revenues, enhance profits and maximize the utilization of company assets.
  14. Prepare presentations on business results.
  15. Continuously provide technical support to customers.
  16. Accurate and timely trip reporting and internal communication with management utilizing Customer Relationship Management (CRM).
  17. Perform other tasks as assigned.

Working Environment:
While performing the essential responsibilities of this positon, employee works within an office and the manufacturing environment. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required within the manufacturing environment. Employee while in the manufacturing environment is regularly exposed to noise, heat and cold environmental conditions.
