Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsible for the training and development of Sales Engineers to maximize the delivered value of Pyrotek’s good and services in a manner that maximizes customer satisfaction, trust and long-term mutually profitable growth in harmony with Pyrotek’s Mission/Vision statement. Effective timely communication of company direction and goals to the sales forces as well as timely feedback on competition, market information, Pyrotek’s product performance, sales team needs and resources requirements to company management.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  1. Ensure effective communication of goals, objectives and expectations throughout assigned department/staff. Maintain the cooperation and support of team members company-wide through effective interdepartmental communication. Serve as role model in areas such as professionalism, service orientation, agent of change, education and commitment to organization goals and objectives.
  2. Development of sales plans and forecasts by customer and by product line as well as managing the prioritization, profitable growth and satisfaction of assigned accounts and markets.
  3. Foster attitudes, conditions and environments that guide your sales team toward excellence and the ability and desire of employees to act in empowered ways. Actively reward/recognize employee to reinforce accomplishments and positive outcomes.
  4. Supervise, coach, support, train and develop employees in assigned area; directly manage employees, including assigning and reviewing work, evaluation performance/compensation resolve.
  5. Partner with Human Resources regarding staffing, performance management and employee relations issues, involving Human Resources in a timely manner. Respond appropriately to inquiries, concerns and complaints by being professional, courteous and respectful at all times.
  6. Establish working relationship with customer base to meet or exceed their expectations. Visit customers at their facilities for selling, building customer rapport and/or training of Sales Engineers, Product Manager and other associates.
  7. Inventory management (including raw materials), stocking agreements, Customer Satisfaction, Customer Intelligence Collection and Customer Activity Documentation.
  8. Increase revenues, enhance profits and maximize the utilization of company assets, trip reporting and internal communication with management utilizing Contact Management. Prepare presentations on business results.
  9. Develop financial, business and strategic analysis for division management.
  10. Determine the effectiveness of procedures and project/plans. Take appropriate corrective measures when necessary. Identify new application, innovations, quality and/or safety improvements and report findings/results to management. Ensure all activities and operations are performed in compliance with Federal/National, State/Regional and local regulations. 
  11. Promote positive team member and customer relations by supporting Pyrotek’s commitment to a working environment of tolerance, acceptance and civility.  Respond appropriately to inquiries, concerns and complaints by being professional, courteous and respectful at all times.
  12. Maintain regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance, as required to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction.
  13. Actively and positively participate in problem resolution, demonstrating constructive communication, timely response and effective resolution skills.  Work effectively within team environments both within your department and across the organization.
  14. Cooperate and comply fully with all Pyrotek policies and procedures.  Actively support and follow the Pyrotek Safety Program.
  15. Participate in company/department meetings, training activities, continuing education programs and other associated activities.
  16. Consistently promote and communicate Pyrotek’s core values through work performance and excellent customer service.
  17. Perform other tasks as assigned.

Must be able to sit for long periods-of-time, bend and reach, use stairs, lift up to 25 pounds occasionally and communicate effectively in English by telephone, in person and in writing. Effectively use a personal computer, office equipment and telephone.

Working Environment
While performing the essential responsibilities of this position, team member generally will work in an office environment as well as in an industrial environment at Pyrotek plant sites and customer locations.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:  Bachelor’s degree in engineering, business or other technical discipline or equivalent combination of education and life experiences. Work experience in a technical or process related industry. Equivalent sales or operation experience within the aluminum or foundry industries. Understanding of Sales Principles, Customer Service practices and Business Acumen.

Computer/Applications Skills. Proficient computer skills using a variety of software applications systems.  Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products. Hands on working knowledge of Enterprise Resources Planning (ERP) and Customer Relationship Management (CRM).

Analytical Skills.  Ability to use information/data and various metrics to develop an informed and factual business case. Strong financial analytical capabilities for developing profitable product strategies. Ability to define problems, collect objective establish facts and draw valid conclusions.

Core Business Skills. Ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion in handling of proprietary and confidential information. Displays willingness to make decisions and ability to work independently, without significant direction and to use resources effectively to “figure it out”.  Strong critical thinking skills, judgment and keen attention to detail and accuracy.  Ability to work collaboratively within a matrix environment. Exceptional prioritization, time management and organizational skills.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Technical Skills.  Ability/knowledge to understand drawings and other specification in review of customer quotes and customer order accuracy.

Travel.  Ability to travel domestically and overnight as needed to customer facilities. Infrequent travel international is also required.
