Essential Duties and Responsibilities

This position requires the ability to travel 95% - 100% primarily domestic and the potential of some global.  Work locations are frequently in Alabama and Spokane, WA.

Refractory Installation, demolition, form set up and manufacture of precast shapes.

Ability to read and comprehend basic instructions, short notes and memos.  Ability to read and interpret information such as safety rules, work standards, work instructions and work orders.  Ability to exercise sound judgement and discretion in handling of proprietary and confidential information.  Strong critical thinking skills, judgment and keen attention to detail and accuracy.  Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide figures to include fractions and decimals. Ability to maintain a valid passport.

Travel requirement. Ability to travel 95 - 100% of the time.  Ability to perform work at sites inside the United States occasional international travel is possible depending on workload and skill requirement.

Qualifications

Must Haves:  High school diploma or GED.  Valid driver’s license, preferred.  Refractory experience and OSHA 10 certification preferred.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities

  1. Perform demolition with jackhammers and clean up debris and rubble.
  2. Following standard operation procedures, mix, pour and vibrate refractory concrete into forms and molds.
  3. Install plastic refractory material using pneumatic ramming hammers and refractory gunnite material using Reed Guns.
  4. Accurately set up precast molds.
  5. Ensure both internal and outside customer demands are met in a timely manner.
  6. Maintain physical condition and cleanliness of work area.
  7. Ensure proper use of equipment and required PPE is worn at all times.
  8. Promote positive employee and customer relations by supporting Pyrotek’s commitment to a working environment of tolerance, acceptance and civility.  Respond appropriately to inquiries, concerns and complaints by being professional, courteous and respectful at all times.
  9. Maintain regular, consistent, reliable, punctual and predictable attendance, as required to achieve internal and external customer satisfaction.
  10. Actively and positively participate in problem resolution, demonstrating constructive communication, timely response and effective resolution skills.  Work effectively within team environments both within your department and across the organization.
  11. Cooperate and comply fully with all Pyrotek policies and procedures.  Actively support and follow the Pyrotek Safety Program.
  12. Participate in company/department meetings, training activities, continuing education programs and other associated activities.
  13. Consistently promote and communicate Pyrotek’s core values through work performance and excellent customer service.   
  14. Perform other tasks as assigned.

Working Environment
While performing the duties of this job, you will be constantly exposed to warm or hot conditions (non-weather), dust and hazardous materials.  The noise level in the work environment can be high.  Proper personal protective equipment is required at all times.  Work is often within confined/tight areas.
