Overview

Aluminium reduction is an electrolytic process that requires a large DC electrical current to be transmitted through the various structures and equipment that compile a potroom. Hence, components of negative and positive voltage potentials must be isolated electrically to prevent short circuits and to allow the series-connected cells in the potroom to function.

Resins and reinforcements are used to create a wide range of laminated and random fibre/resin composites. Electrical insulation laminates and composites comply with the required or applicable international standards (NEMA, DIN, BS EN).
