High Temperature Mould Covers

HighTemperatureMouldCovers

Overview

For flat glass to be formed into a 3-D shape, the glass is often heated until soft and pressed against a mould. Made out of ceramic or steel, the moulds are covered with a soft knitted material, which helps prevent marks on the glass and inconsistent heat transfer through the glass. The fabric also provides separation between the glass and the vacuum holes in the mould, thus diffusing the suction and mechanical forces in the bending process.
