Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Manage staff and reporting functions under the general direction of the Corporate Controller. Responsible for the Corporate location’s financial statements in compliance with US GAAP. Manages staff responsible for USA payroll and taxes, as well as related 401(k) and profit sharing functions. Coordinate banking activities including global netting for inter company partner payables and receivables.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Prepare accurate and timely financial budgets, reports and analysis for the Corporate office in compliance with US GAAP. Analyze variances and provide reports to senior and executive management.

2. Serve as a key team member to support the preparation of Pyrotek’s global consolidated financial reports and annual external audits.

3. Manage staff and accounting activity within the Corporate entity, including: AP, AR, cash & treasury, general ledger, compliance with tax filings.

4. Manage and coordinate activities of payroll team and functions.
• Review and approve payroll deductions, interpret company policies and government regulations in connection with payroll procedures.
• Oversee the management of the payroll system. Work with payroll and/or human resources to resolve issues related to payroll processing.
• Stay up to date with all federal, state, and local legal requirements with existing and new legislation that could impact payroll and advise Corporate Controller and HR Director on needed actions.
• Support all internal and external audits related to payroll.

5. Coordinate activities related to 1099 filings and sales and tax calculations and submission.

6. Prepare detailed analysis of Corporate costs and cost drivers in order to calculate intercompany recharges and shared services fees.

7. Manage the monthly global netting process and application. Provide training and guidance to global finance managers on the use of the application.

8. Support the Corporate Controller with activities related to accounting and admin functions for the USA 401(k) and profit sharing plans, ensuring compliance and timely filings.

9. Supervise, coach support, train and develop personnel in assigned area; resolve personnel issues, redirecting complex issues to management and HR in a timely manner; directly manage employees, including assigning and reviewing work, evaluating performance/compensation, resolving grievances, administering disciplinary action, interviewing employment candidates, and effectively recommending hires and terminations in a timely manner.

10. Ensure effective communication of goals, objectives and expectations throughout assigned department/staff. Maintain the cooperation and support of team members company-wide through effective interdepartmental communication. Serve as a role model in areas such as professionalism, service orientation, agent of change, education, and commitment to organizational goals and objectives.

11. Foster attitudes, conditions and environments that guide your team toward excellence while acting with integrity and ethics aligned with Pyrotek core values. Qualifications

Must Haves:  BS in Accounting or related field, plus five years of experience in accounting and financial reporting systems, payroll and 401(k) retirement benefit; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience managing an accounting department. Experience working in a global and multi-cultural organization a plus. CPA Preferred.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities
Accounting Skills. Strong accounting, financial reporting and financial analysis skills. Strong knowledge of US GAAP and regulations. In-depth knowledge of payroll, payroll calculations and processing, payroll systems, and state and federal rules and laws.
